The OPAC is dead! - NLS Debate
Date: 2 February 2007; Time: 0930 - 1130
Long live the OPAC! Or not, as the case may be. Is the OPAC still relevant for the XML and Google generation? What would be the best way for our users to access our information resources in the 21st century?
As part of its annual “Learning at Work” week the National Library of Scotland is hosting the above debate. Simon Bains (Digital Library manager) will propose that the OPAC is dead and John Coll (Business Information manager) will oppose the motion. If you would like to attend the discussion and also meet with colleagues from the Library then please contact Graeme Hawley (g.hawley@nls.uk) to register.
Location: Conference Room, Causewayside Building, National Library of Scotland (http://www.nls.uk/info/locationmap/citycentre.html )
