CILIP Training Course on LCSH
28 February 2007, led by Keith Trickey in London.
"The day will provide a background to the origin and evolution of this format, with exercises in building simple and complex subject headings, the significance of pattern headings, using LCSH in MARC 21 bibliographic format.
The use of the MARC 21 authority format for LCSH will be examined as a means to maintain coherence in the use of headings in your database. The day will close with the implications of cooperative work undertaken in America (SACO) to sort out this vast maze of subject terminology." (Mailshot received 08/01/2007).
More details on the CILIP website.
