Dewey Decimal Classification Committee

Statement from Ross Trotter, Chairman, CILIP Dewey Decimal Classification Committee, received today:

"In April 2007 Ross Trotter will be standing down as the Chairman of the CILIP Dewey Decimal Classification Committee. Ross became a member of the Committee in 1969 and has been its Chairman since 1999.

The new Chairman will be Stephen Homer, who joined the Committee in 2002. Stephen is Information Manager in Library Services at the University of Central England , Birmingham , and has over twenty-five years experience of using Dewey in public and academic libraries.

Caroline Kent (BL) will continue her current role as the UK representative to the Dewey Editorial Policy Committee. Ross Trotter will remain on the CILIP Dewey Committee as an observer during 2007 to provide support to the new Chairman"
